I can't get this to work.   Let say I had both my computer sign in password and my MS account countersign set to "abc".    I so inverse my MS account password to "xyz".  This worked - I can now sign in every bit "xyz".

When I signed off/on the estimator, I had to enter "abc" (non "xyz").    (I desire to be able to sign on with the same password as the MS password ('xyz").

I went to the Sign-in Options screen, and selected "change your business relationship password".  I entered "abc" for the current password, and "xyz" for the new password.

I get bulletin "the password is wrong, please endeavor over again".

From this screen, should I be inbound "xyz" for both the current password and for the new password ?

Since I do not have the instructions handy on how to post a screen shot, I did not go i.  Exercise yous need information technology ?

I signed into my MS account with xyz, then tried to change my computer sign on password to brand it xyz.  Same error - invalid password.

I as well entered an invalid password to the computer sign on screen.  Information technology does not give me an option change my password.  I took the option to "reset countersign" (I think that is what it said), but it tells me I am not connected to the internet (which I wasn't).    Should I leave my cyberspace connection active, then sign off/on, then endeavour to reset my password ?

I have had it for today.  I will try that tomorrow.  Please keep to respond with suggestions.

I am confused every bit to what is considered a "local" business relationship vs a "Microsoft" account.   I know I have a MS business relationship (I got to this website by signing in to it with password xyz).   So what is a local account ?   I sign into my computer with countersign abc.   So is abc associated with my local account ?    Just to clarify what I am trying to do:  I am trying to change my computer sign in password to xyz.    Notation:  These are not the real passwords - I am just using them for illustration.

===========================

Post-obit is a screen shot of the Sign In Options screen:   Is this the screen you are referring to ?  You so said "on the right side of the pane, nether countersign, select change".  As yous tin can encounter, the screen does not show exactly what you stated.   Should I be selecting "Reset local business relationship countersign" ?  To reply my previous question:  what is the difference between a local account and a Microsoft account ?   I volition not proceed on this screen until I hear a response from y'all.   Thanks for your aid.  Hopefully, nosotros can get this resolved.
